The first couple took to social media on July 2 to greet the Marcos matriarch, posting photos of her with them.

"Happy happy birthday mom," the President said on his Facebook post.

"Thank you for teaching me and your grandchildren to be gracious, kind and compassionate," he added.

The current first lady, on the other hand, also made a post thanking the former first lady for being her "second mother."

"Happy 95th birthday Mama Meldy," she said. "Thank you for being a second mother to me.  You are and always will be my first lady.  [Love] you.  Mean it."

It's Imelda Marcos' third time celebrating her birthday after being back in Malacañang through her son's presidency.

Unlike in 2022—Imelda's first year to celebrate her birthday in the Palace after a long time, where the Marcoses held a grand birthday celebration for her, the first family only had a quiet celebration with family and friends this year, Malacañang said.
