PNP chief inaugurates 4 new police stations in Iloilo City

ILOILO CITY – Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police Gen. Rommel Marbil inaugurated four new police stations in this city on Tuesday, July 2.

Marbil was joined by Police Regional Office-6 chief Police Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky, Iloilo City police director Col. Joeresty Coronica, and Vice Mayor Jeffrey Ganzon.

The PNP chief thanked the Iloilo city government led by Mayor Jerry Treñas for providing the spaces for the four new police stations under the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO).

Police Station 7 is located at the Iloilo City Action and Response (ICARE) in Barangay Tanza. It serves a population of 26,835 in 24 barangays in the City Proper District.

Police Station 8 in the barangay hall of Barrio Obrero secures 30,384 residents in 12 barangays in Lapuz District.

Police Station 9, at the Uswag Youth Center in Jaro District, will serve 60,519 residents in 29 barangays of Jaro District.

Police Station 10 at the ICARE Gaisano Capital Iloilo City Center Mall will secure 25,917 residents in seven barangays in Mandurriao District.

Marbil said these four new police stations with a combined force of 190 policemen mean additional police presence in populous areas.
