The MinDA Board of Directors formalized his appointment through a resolution passed on Thursday, June 27, during a board meeting here.

The meeting was attended by North Cotabato Gov. Emmylou Taliño-Mendoza, South Cotabato Gov. Reynaldo Tamayo Jr., Southern Philippines Development Authority Administrator Gerry Salapudin, Dinagat Island Gov. Nilo Demerey Jr., and Misamis Oriental Rep. Yevgeny Vincente Emano.

The MinDA Board of Directors thanked President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. for appointing Magno as MinDA chair.

The resolution expressed the board’s unanimously approval of Magno’s leadership.

Magno thanked the MinDA board for their trust and confidence in him. “It is both an honor and a privilege to be acknowledged.”

He thanked Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Anton Lagdameo for his support.  "SAP Anton is very passionate and caring about Mindanao because he is also a Mindanaoan,” Magno said.

Magno said Lagdameo advised him to consolidate the concerns of local government units and ensure these matters are brought to the Office of the President.

He added that Lagdameo encouraged him to seek and implement solutions to help the entire Mindanao. Magno thanked President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. for trusting him.

"While I cannot promise specific results, I commit to doing my utmost to contribute to the socio-economic development of Mindanao, whether through planning, implementation, or coordination with various stakeholders," Magno said.

Marcos appointed Magno as MinDA chair on May 13 and was sworn in before Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on May 21.
