TACLOBAN CITY – Six persons were killed after a self-loader truck rammed seven houses on the Maharlika Highway in Barangay Caglanipao Sur, Tinambacan District, Calbayog City, before dawn on Tuesday, July 2.

SIX persons were killed when a truck crashed into seven houses in Calbayog City on July 2.
Among the fatalities were eight-year-old girl who was declared dead in a hospital.
A resident, the driver of the truck Charles, 40, of Caloocan City; and his passenger, Gina, 44, of Dalaguete, Cebu, were among the injured.
Police said the truck reportedly lost its brakes and swerved to the side of the road and rammed the houses.
The victims, driver, and his passenger sustained injuries and were brought to the Calbayog District Hospital and Saint Camillus Hospital in Calbayog City.
The driver was arrested in the hospital and faces appropriate charges.
The truck was on its way to Allen, Northern Samar, from Naval, Biliran when the accident happened.
