BACOLOD CITY – A 39-year-old farmer tagged as the No. 2 most wanted person in Western Visayas was arrested by the police in Sitio Amihan, Barangay Celestino Villacin, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental on Thursday, July 18.

According to the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo), the suspect, who is a resident of Barangay Sewahon 1, Sagay City, Negros Occidental, was nabbed for five counts of statutory rape under Article 266-A, Paragraph 1(D) of Republic Act (RA) 8353 or The Anti-Rape Law of 1997 as amended by RA 11648.
The suspect was also charged for seven counts of rape by sexual assault under Article 266-A, Paragraph 2 of the Revised Penal Code, as amended by RA 8353, with a total bail of P70,000.
He was charged for 11 counts for violation of Section 5(A)5 of RA 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act, with a total bail of P110,000.
Arrest warrants were issued and signed by the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 73 in Sagay City on July 18.
