Marcos: DPWH checking on CAR's request for more infra funds
President Marcos said that the national government is now checking on the request of the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) for more funds to implement a priority project in the region.

Marcos made the statement as he assured them that the region will not be left behind in terms of infrastructure development.
"Patuloy din po ang pagpapagawa natin ng Apayao Sports Complex o Convention Center at kasalukuyan sinusuri naman ng DPWH ang hinihingi ninyong karagdagang pondo para sa proyektong ito (The construction of the Apayao Sports Complex or Convention Center is underway and the Department of Public Works and Highway is checking on your request for additional fund for this project)," Marcos said on Friday, July 19, during the distribution of government assistance in Apayao.
Marcos also assured the province that the government has already set aside fund for food and non-food items amounting to P83 million intended for the region in case of calamities during the rainy season.
In his speech at the event, the President also reported on the ongoing priority projects in the region.
"Higit pa sa mga ipinapaabot namin na tulong [at] serbisyo, sinisiguro po natin na hindi maiiwanan ang Apayao at buong CAR sa ating mithiin na sama-samang pag-unlad (More than the assistance and services we are giving, we ensure that Apayao and the entire CAR will not be left behind in our aspiration towards progress)," he said.
"Mayroon na tayong ilang priority [projects] na isinasagawa ngayon dito sa inyong rehiyon (There are some priority projects being implemented now in your region)," he added.
Among these projects, the President said, are the Marimay Earthfill Dam and Piddig-Carasi-Calanasan Road.
Both projects are expected to be completed next year, Marcos said, recalling that these projects have long been in the pipeline.
