Las Piñas youth get cool e-library from Camille Villar

The youngsters of Barangay Pulang Lupa Uno, Las Piñas City now have a cool e-library to call their own, thanks to the efforts of House Deputy Speaker Camille Villar.

The youngsters of Barangay Pulang Lupa Uno, Las Piñas City now have a cool e-library to call their own, thanks to the efforts of House Deputy Speaker Camille Villar.

Villar, who represents Las Piñas City in the House of Representatives, has recently turned over the first Kabataan Center to leaders of the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) of the village.

The Center is equipped with computers, printers, a photocopy machine for research and printing, and a free Wi-Fi connection that allows it access to digital resources for learning.

It is likewise provided with books and has a meeting space where children can gather and study together.

The construction of the 63 sqm Pulang Lupa Uno Kabataan Center started on May 13, 2024 and finished on May 31. It was inaugurated on July 6.

“Mahalaga ang edukasyon para sa ating mga kabataan. Sa pamamagitan ng mga Kabataan Centers na ating ipinatatayo, layunin natin na matulungan ang mga kabataan sa kanilang pag-aaral,” Villar said.

(It's important to pursue education for our youth. Through the Kabataan Centers that we've erected, it is our aim to help the your further their studies.)

Villar had earlier filed House Bill (HB) No. 9572, or the proposed E-books for the Barangay Program Act. It provides for the creation of a digital library platform that will provide a secure and organized database of digital learning resources.
