In a hybrid press conference, DICT Assistant Secretary Aboy Paraiso said that the arrested individuals were involved in the recent spate of cyber incidents affecting government and private websites.

"The DICT also congratulates the National Bureau of Investigation on the recent successful entrapment operation led by Director Judge Jaime B. Santiago (Ret.) and the NBI Cybercrime Division that resulted in the arrest of four individuals in Tagaytay City, Cavite on 9 July 2024," Paraiso said.

"The DICT remains committed to supporting the NBI with additional technical assistance to bolster their efforts in bringing these criminals to justice and will continue to collaborate with law enforcement agencies to ensure a secure cyberspace for all Filipinos," he added.

On July 18, Santiago presented to the media suspects alleged to be members of the Blood Sec International (BSI) who were arrested during operations conducted by the NBI.

According to the report, one of those arrested is an officer of the Philippine Navy (PN).
