61 wanted persons fall in Cordillera


CAMP DANGWA, Benguet – Police nabbed 61 wanted individuals in the Cordillera region from July 12 to 18.

The Baguio City Police Office arrested 21 wanted persons, the Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO), 13; Kalinga PPO, nine; Abra and Mountain Province PPOs, six each, and Apayao and Ifugao PPOs, three each.

Seventeen suspects were top most wanted persons (TMWP), 10 on the provincial level, six on the municipal level, and one on the regional level.

Sixty-one municipalities recorded zero crime incidents – 21 in Abra, 10 each in Benguet and Mountain Province, nine in Ifugao, seven in Apayao, and four municipalities in Kalinga.

In Baguio City, five police stations – 3, 5, 7, 9, and 10 – were crime-free.

Police reported a significant 25.71 percent decrease in the Peace and Order Indicator (POl) and a 0.82 percent decrease in the average weekly crime rate in the region compared to the same period last year.

The PRO-Cordillera had a 16 percent crime clearance efficiency and four percent crime solution efficiency. According to PRO-Cordillera, these underscored the dedicated efforts of law enforcement in crime prevention and resolution.
