2 dead, 2 hurt in Tuguegarao restaurant shooting

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – Two men were shot dead and two others were injured in a shooting incident in a newly-opened restaurant in Barangay Tanza here on Thursday night, July 18.

Police Capt. Rose Marie Taguiam, spokesperson of the Tuguegarao police, said that the two suspects and the victims were having a drinking session in the restaurant.

A heated argument allegedly ensued between the suspects and the victims. The suspects drew their guns and shot the victims.

The victims were taken to a hospital here where two of them – a 58- and 48-year-old men from Barangay Centro, Peñablanca, Cagayan – were declared dead. The two other victims are recuperating in the hospital.

Both sides were allegedly drunk when the incident happened.

The suspects fled onboard a car. Police have identified the suspects based on surveillance footages but have yet to disclose their names as investigation is ongoing.
