TUP-Visayas graduate tops master plumber licensure exam


BACOLOD CITY – A mechanical engineering graduate of the Technological University of the Philippines-Visayas based in Talisay City, Negros Occidental topped the July 2024 Master Plumbers Licensure Examination (MPLE).

Jobrylle John Tarrazona Simbahon, who garnered an 89 percent rating in the exam conducted by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), finished secondary education at the Sagay National High School in Sagay City, Negros Occidental.

Talisay Mayor Neil Lizares and the Department of Education (DepEd)-Sagay Schools Division congatulated Simbahon for his accomplishment. 

TUPV ranked third in the top performing schools in the exam with an 88.89 percent rating. Sixteen out of 18 examinees from TUPV hurdled the exam.

The PRC, which released the results on Wednesday night, July 17, said that 2,936 out of 6,191 examinees passed the exam held by the Board for Master Plumbers in the National Capital Region, Baguio, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Rosales, Tacloban, and Puerto Princesa, Palawan.
