Tulfo brothers, Go top contenders for 2025 senatorial race — OCTA

If the May 2025 elections were held today, ACT-CIS Party-list Rep. Erwin Tulfo, broadcaster Ben Tulfo, and Senator Christopher “Bong” Go will likely be the top contenders in the senatorial race, based on the OCTA Research survey results released on Thursday, July 18.

During the June 26 to July 1 “Tugon ng Masa” survey, 1,200 respondents aged 18 and above were personally asked whom they would likely vote for as senator in the next elections. 

A list of personalities who may run in the May 2025 elections was shown to the respondents. They were allowed to choose up to 12 names.

In the top spot was Rep. Tulfo, who received a voter preference of 58 percent. 

Following him were his brother Ben and incumbent Senator Go, who both received 45 percent, placing them between 2nd and 4th place.

Former Senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto III was also close, placing between 2nd and 5th place, with 44-percent voter preference.

Incumbent Senators Pia Cayetano (39 percent) and Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. (38 percent) ranked 4th to 9th and 5th to 10th, respectively.

Three personalities shared the 5th to 11th spots, namely Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa (36 percent), Senator Francis Tolentino (34 percent), and former Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson Sr. (34 percent).

Meanwhile, in the 6th to 13th spots was former president Rodrigo Duterte (33 percent), and in the 7th to 14th spots was former Senator Manny Pacquiao (32 percent)

Sharing the 10th to 16th spots were Senator Imee Marcos and Senator Lito Lapid, each receiving 28 percent voter preference.

Interior and Local Government Secretary Benjamin “Benhur” Abalos Jr. was ranked 11th to 16th, with a voter preference of 27 percent.

Former Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso and Makati City Mayor Abigail “Abby” Binay shared the 12th to 18th spots, each receiving 23 percent of the voter preference.
