A study that would address the problem of the supply of electricity in Palawan is now underway, President Marcos said.

In his speech during the distribution of assistance to communities severely affected by El Niño in Puerto Princesa, Marcos assured the people that efforts are being undertaken to address the concerns on the supply of electricity in the province.
"Alam din po [namin] ang inyong mga hinaing, una na diyan [ay] ang kakulangan [sa] suplay ng kuryente (We are aware of your concerns, first is the lack of supply of electricity)," Marcos said on Thursday, July 18.
"Upang matugunan ito, ang Maharlika Investment Corporation, ang National Electrification Administration, at ang Palawan [Electric] Cooperative ay [magsasagawa] ng pag-aaral upang mapabuti ang supply ng kuryente sa inyong lalawigan (In order to address this, the Maharlika Investment Corporation, National Electrification Administration, and Palawan Electric Cooperative are conducting a study to improve the supply of electricity in your province)," he added.
The President also told the people of Palawan to expect positive results from the collaboration between the agencies.
He also assured them that the government is continuously preparing for any eventualities during the rainy season.
The Chief Executive disclosed that P140 million worth of food and non-food items are being prepositioned for the rainy season, with P5-million "standby funds" also being set aside for the region.
Aside from this, Marcos also gave an update on the infrastructure projects being implemented in the province.
According to Marcos, the Ibato-Iraan Small Reservoir Irrigation Project in the municipality of Aborlan, which has a dam component, is 95 percent complete.
The Dr. Damian Reyes Road in Marinduque is also halfway done, the President added.
He further said that the construction of the Balabac Military Runway is now on its final phase. This project, Marcos stressed, plays a huge part in the country's national security.
"Nasa huling bahagi na [rin ng paggawa] natin [sa] Balabac Military Runway, lalo na’t malaki ang papel na gagampanan ng Palawan sa pambansang seguridad (The construction of the Balabac Military Runway is now on its final phase, especially that Palawan plays a huge part in the country's national security)," Marcos said.
He also mentioned the efforts to improve tourism in the province through the Puerto Princesa Airport Development Project and Pag-asa Island Airport Development Project.
