BACOLOD CITY – Mayor Benjie Miranda of Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, reminded motorists to take extra precaution after a portion of a road in Sitio Banga, Barangay Camingawan collapsed due heavy rain from a low-pressure area (LPA) on Wednesday, July 17.

Miranda, who was in Manila, posted some photos of the collapsed road on Facebook on Thursday, July 18, saying that a “landslide” occurred in the area.
Miranda, in a radio interview, said that the movement of motorists in the area was limited for a while due to the situation.
The bridge leads to Barangay Carol-an, he added.
He said that road maintenance was immediately conducted to make the road passable for motorists.
Miranda said that assessment was conducted to determine the extent of damage and the needed repair.
