The office of Gabriela Party-list Rep. Arlene Brosas revealed on Thursday afternoon, July 18 the congresswoman's planned outfit for President Marcos' upcoming State of the Nation Address (SONA).

"Gabriela Women's Party Rep. Arlene Brosas will don a striking black Filipiniana gown adorned with artwork symbolizing Filipino women's resistance to foreign military aggression," read a short statement from Gabriela.

The statement came with a sketch of the Filipiniana to be donned by the Makabayan lawmaker.

The artwork was made by local artist-activist and art educator Michael Joselo.

House Secretary-General Reginald Velasco earlier said that SONA guests sporting "protest wear" would be asked to change before entering the plenary hall where Marcos will deliver his annual speech.

The SONA will be held on July 22 at Batasang Pambansa Complex in Quezon City.
