Ex-president Duterte is 'alive and eating'—Bong Go

Senator Christopher “Bong” Go again rejected speculations about former president Rodrigo Duterte’s condition.

According to Go, the ex-chief executive is “alive and eating” despite the current rumors circulating online.

In a Facebook post on Wednesday night, Go uploaded photos of Duterte and his common-law partner Honeylet Avanceña, sitting at a dining table with food and drinks.

“Alive and Eating! ‘Yan ang sagot ni Senator Bong Go sa mga kumakalat na FAKE NEWS ngayon ukol sa kalagayan ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte (that’s Sen. Bong Go’s answer to the fake news circulating about the former President Rodrigo Duterte’s health),” the senator stated in the caption.

Also in his Facebook post last June, Go debunked information circulating that the former leader has allegedly passed away by going live with Duterte.

In that live, Duterte said he is just staying and resting at his Davao City residence.

Since he is also already advanced in age, Duterte said it is normal for him to also get sick.

“Akoý matanda na at hindi natin maiwasan ang mga balita na nagkasakit (I’m already old and I we can’t avoid rumors that I got sick),” he said.

“Wala naman akong sakit at feeling ko, hindi naman ako mamamatay ngayon kaagad (I’m not sick and I doubt I will die right away),” Duterte said.
