The city government of Parañaque conducted a culminating activity for 750 beneficiaries of the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) on Tuesday, July 16.
Parañaque City Mayor Eric Olivarez said the beneficiaries were deployed to work for one month in different offices of the city hall and received P18,300 or equivalent to P610 per day as their salary.
He added that the SPES beneficiaries started their tour of duty at the Parañaque City Hall on June 3.
The SPES program was created by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in coordination with the Public Employment and Services Office (PESO) to give students temporary work at various local governments.
The program also enables students to earn money which they can use for their school expenses and other personal needs.
