Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan said her commitment to lead the city remains and that her "sibling love" for former Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko" Moreno Domagoso has not changed following growing speculations that Domagoso was set to seek the mayoral post in the City of Manila.

In a statement released on Wednesday, July 17, she said she respects the decision of the former mayor, but asked him to reconsider his plans.

Lacuna-Pangan noted that she is confident that she and Moreno are both dedicated to serving the Manileños.

"Thus, I am giving my dear brother, former Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso, time to reconsider his plans. He still has time to reflect on his decision. As his Ate (older sister) in public service, I am here to guide him," she also said.

She also recalled the 2022 campaign where Moreno and the Manileños placed their trust in her as the first female mayor of Manila.

"Tanggap ko ang realidad ng pulitika. Batid ng mga Manileño na bago pa man mabuo ang tambalang Isko-Honey noong 2019 elections at mula pa noong nabubuhay pa ang aking ama at Asenso Manileño Founder Danilo Lacuna Sr. turingang magkapatid na ang panata namin ni Isko sa isa’t isa (I accept the reality of politics. Manileños know that even before the Isko-Honey tandem was formed in the 2019 elections and since my father and Asenso Manileño Founder Danilo Lacuna Sr. was alive, Isko and I have vowed  to treat each other as siblings)," she stated.

The lady mayor vowed that her top priority will always be the Manileños that she will continue to work hard for.

"This focus will remain until the filing of candidacies and beyond, if the trust of Manila in our leadership continues," she added.

She said that the next election will be a test for every resident to weigh in on her character, leadership, service, and vision for Manila.

"Despite any political circumstances, I remain Ate Honey to Isko because in Manila, love of family endures," she added.
