Kris Aquino’s sons pray at the Antipolo Cathedral

The sons of Kris Aquino visited the International Shrine of the Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage on Sunday, July 14 and prayed in front of the miraculous image of the Virgin of Antipolo.

Joshua “Josh” Aquino and his brother James “Bimby” Aquino were able to pray in front of the Virgin of Antipolo at the cathedral’s museum located at the second floor of the cathedral.

The two young Aquinos stayed at the museum  where the image of the Virgin of Antipolo is kept and prayed in silence as the shrine’s rector, Fr. Reynante Tolentino, blessed them.

Antipolo resident and devotee of the Virgin of Antipolo, Michael Leyva, a prominent fashion designer for celebrities and personalities including Kris Aquino, was the one who accompanied the Aquino siblings to the international shrine.

The Antipolo Cathedral released on July 16, a photo on its social media page showing Kris Aquino's two sons, Bimby (left) and Joshua (second from right) with the image of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage in the center. Joining the two Aquinos are Fr. Tolentino (second from left) and fashion designer Michael Leyva (right).

Kris Aquino’s mother, the late former President Corazon Aquino, traces her roots to Antipolo where the latter’s mother, Demetria Sumulong, hailed from the lone city of the Province of Rizal.

Kris, known as the Queen of All Media, is in the United States and seeking medical treatment for her autoimmune condition.

Fr. Tolentino said Josh and Bimby were thankful as they had a close and personal encounter with the Virgin of Antipolo,

They are set to go back to the United States to be with their mother again. Josh and Bimby donated to the feeding program of the cathedral called the "Tinapay ng Birhen."

Some devotees of the Virgin of Antipolo have been attesting to the intervention and miraculous intercession of the brown-skinned Nuestra Senora Dela Paz Y Buenviaje especially for impossible cases.

In March 2023, Philippine Basketball Association player, LA Tenorio of Ginebra, who was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer, visited the Virgin of Antipolo to seek her intercession for his healing.  Later in September, Tenorio announced that he was cancer-free.
