Injured dolphin rescued in Batangas

BAUAN, Batangas – An injured dolphin was rescued in Barangay Aplaya, this town, on Tuesday, July 16.

Residents found the dolphin on the sea and immediately informed the Coast Guard Bauan sub-station which coordinated with various government agencies for its rescue.

The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources said the dolphin was weak and brought to shore. It weighed 150 to 200 kilograms and was 2.7-meters long.

Initial examination revealed the dolphin was wounded in the right fin.

The dolphin was transferred to an inflatable pool and being taken care of by BFAR.
