Supporters of former Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko" Moreno Domagoso are pushing him to run again for mayor of the Capital City in the 2025 elections.

Domagoso served as Manila mayor from 2019 to 2022. He ran for president after his term.

After his loss in the presidential race in 2022, he went back to show business as a TV host.

He appeared in several TV shows of the Kapuso Network. In his post on June 29, he said he is fulfilling his obligations in the network and that he has no plans to take part in the 2025 elections.

He also said in the Sparkle World Tour held at the Matrix Creation Events in Quezon City on June 27, that half of his life was dedicated to public service and that politics is not his priority right now.

Domagoso recently visited several districts in Manila to find out the condition of the families affected by the recent fire incidents.

Several videos of Manileños crying and appealing to Domagoso to "come back" have gone viral on social media.

These sparked speculations about his impending return to reclaim the top Manila local government post.

Some of the videos were reshared by the former chief executive on his Facebook timeline with the caption "Laging may awa ang Diyos (God is always merciful)," and hashtag #TimeWillTell.

Photos of Moreno with his alleged new team - Manila Councilors Timothy Oliver Zarcal, Darwin Awi Sia, and Elmer Par, have also been circulating on social media for several days.

Moreno has yet to confirm the speculations.

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has set the period for the filing of certificates of candidacy from October 1 to 8, 2024, for those running in the national and local elections on May 12, 2025.
