Game has evolved in PVL, says returning import Katherine Bell

So much has changed for Katherine Bell since she last played in the Premier Volleyball League four years ago.

Now suiting up for the Chery Tiggo Crossovers, the 31-year-old wing spiker said the landscape of the league has changed as far as the quality of game and athletes are concerned.

“Everyone’s game has changed and developed over the years,” said Bell moments after the Crossovers swept the Farm Fresh Foxies, 25-13, 27-25, 25-22, at the start of the Reinforced Conference on Tuesday, July 16.

“The game is a lot faster, and the girls were able to spread out amongst other teams so there’s a lot of tough competition for sure,” she added.

Bell, who last played for the then Petro Blaze Spikers from 2018 to 2020 before seeing action in South Korea then returning in Manila, also lauded the defensive plays of the teams as early as now.

“The defense is insane,” she said. “The liberos playing in this league are amazing, so I’m just excited to play more.”

“It’s just great to be back here. I’m just coming with the same mentality as the last time, being humble and making sure to do good for my team,” she added.

The Crossovers will next play the Nxled Chameleons, who also won their first assignment against the Galeries Tower Highrisers, on Saturday, July 20.
