In what looked like an effort to address the surplus of guards on its team, NorthPort shipped sophomore Brent Paraiso to Terrafirma in exchange for a second round pick in the 51st Season draft.

The Letran standout made a good account of himself in his rookie year in the league, serving mostly as an able backup to the likes of Paul Zamar and Fran Yu last season.

With the Batang Pier, however, acquiring Jio Jalalon from Magnolia as part of the Zav Lucero deal as well as picking Dave Ildefonso and Evan Nelle during the rookie draft, Paraiso’s minutes in NorthPort’s rotation is surely taking a blow.

For one, aside from Zamar and Yu, the Batang Pier also has Kris Rosales and Paolo Taha in the roster.

With te Dyip, Paraiso can reprise his role as backup alongside 10th overall pick Mark Nonoy to the likes of Stanley Pringle and Juami Tiongson.

Meanwhile, Rain or Shine also traded 20th overall pick Miggy Corteza to Blackwater in exchange for a 51st Season second round pick, originally owned by TNT.

The 6-foot-4 forward actually already attended Blackwater practice even before the trade was given the thumbs up. The College of St. Benilde standout will try to land a spot in the Bossing roster that already has wingmen Troy Rosario, Christian David and Tyrus Hill.

Meanwhile, Barangay Ginebra had also traded rookie picks Didat Hanapi and Paolo Hernandez to Terrafirma for 50th season second round pick.
