Antipolo LGU deploys mobile disaster response team to fire-hit Caviteños


The Antipolo City local government on Wednesday, July 17, deployed its Mobile Disaster Response Team to deliver aid to around 3,000 Caviteños who lost their homes in a fire that hit two barangays in Cavite City on July 14.

According to Antipolo City Mayor Jun Ynares, the team will be providing free services to the victims which include a mobile kitchen, mobile shower, mobile water purifier, and a water tanker.

The Cavite Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDDRMO) said the blaze, which destroyed a residential area in Barangays 5 and 7, started at 3:08 p.m. and quickly reached the third alarm at 3:40 p.m. Firefighters declared fire out at 5:54 p.m.

In his Facebook post, Cavite 1st District Rep. Jolo Revilla said the fire left 1,200 families or 3,300 individuals homeless.

The victims are currently staying at the Dalahican Elementary School and Sta. Cruz Elementary School.

The Cavite City local government unit (LGU) announced that it is accepting donations for the fire victims such as canned goods, water, rice, medicines, toiletries, hygiene kits, and beddings.

Revilla, together with his father, Sen. Bong Revilla Jr. and the Agimat Partylist, also provided hygiene kits, sleeping kits, kitchen utensils, family food packs, and hot meals to the fire victims.

The officials also offered P15,000 financial assistance for each affected family.
