Korean actor Nam Yoon-su, who appeared in the dramas “The King’s Affection,” “Extracurricular” and “Beyond Evil,” made a sacrifice for his father.
The 26-year-old actor donated his kidney to his father to cure his illness. He underwent kidney transplant surgery for his father last June 19, Korean media outlet SPOTV News reported on July 16.

Nam Yoon-su and his father are recovering and were discharged from The Catholic University of Korea-Eunpyeong St. Mary's Hospital in Seoul.
The actor reportedly stopped all his activities since the start of the year to focus on preparing for the kidney transplant surgery.
The hospital posted photos of Nam Yoon-su and praised the actor for donating his kidney to his father.
“Giving away a part of one's body is much more difficult and scary than one might think, but in the field of organ transplantation, we often encounter moments where we willingly share our precious organs, laugh, and comfort each other,” St. Mary Hospital posted on Instagram.
It added that “recently, at the ‘Cardinal Kim Soo-hwan Memorial’ organ transplant hospital at Eunpyeong St. Mary’s Hospital, the smiles of ‘actor who is good at cooking’ Nam Yoon-su and his family were in full bloom. This is because actor Nam Yoon-soo donated his kidney to his father to cure his illness.”
“Both donor and recipient recovered quickly and were discharged from the hospital in good health, and the medical staff also had a happy moment seeing the families talking about a happy future,’ it said.
The hospital said, “Actor Nam Yoon-su always showed a bright and positive appearance from the process of preparing for transplant surgery to the moment of recovery and discharge from the hospital. We think his bright smile and good heart that deeply cares about his family brought about today's good results,”
“We pray that you will be reborn as a great star who exerts a positive influence on our society in the future,” the hospital said of Nam Yoon-su.
