Rizal PPO launches youth summit to fight drugs

The Rizal Police Provincial Office (PPO) launched the "Battle of Champions," a youth summit that aims to raise awareness among the youth about the dangers of drug use on Tuesday, July 16.

Rizal PPO Director Col. Felipe Maraggun led the launching ceremony at the covered court of Camp MGen Licerio I Geronimo in Taytay, Rizal.

In addition to raising awareness on how drugs can destroy lives, the youth summit also aims to emphasize the importance of Rizal's youth by showcasing their talents in painting, songwriting, and poetry competitions.

The youth are also active partners of the police in its campaigns against illegal drugs, terrorism, and the government's community mobilization program. It also promotes a crime-free lifestyle among the youth.

The summit was attended by personnel from the National Youth Commission, the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation of Rizal, the Department of Education-Rizal (DepEd), and local tourism or municipal advisory group members from Angono, Rizal, who served as judges in the competition.

Maraggun expressed hope that the event would serve as a starting point for further initiatives promoting healthy and responsible living among the youth in the province.
