The farmers found the contraband in two white transparent plastic bags in an abandoned and dilapidated hut near their houses.

They reported their discovery to the police who found a green sack that contained six more plastic bags of suspected shabu during a search of the area.

Police said that people who found the plastic bags were not aware of their contents and opened and poured them on the ground. The contraband was dissolved by rain.

The recovered items weighed 8.399 kilos and had an estimated street value of P57,113,200. They will be turned over to the Samar Police Provincial Office Forensic Unit for further examination.
