Police Capt. Michael Tuburan, head of Police Station 9, identified the victim as Gregg Alvin Gelito of Barangay 35, this city.

Tuburan said the victim was about to board his pickup truck when two unidentified persons on a motorcycle passed by and shot him in the head.

The victim was taken to South Bacolod General Hospital where he was declared dead.

Recovered from the crime scene were three empty shells and two deformed 9mm slugs.

The victim had just finished lunch with his driver, who was unharmed, when he was killed.

Police are looking for closed-circuit television camera footages to aid them in the investigation.

Gelito was the fourth shooting victim here since last week. Three persons, including a 12-year-old boy, were earlier killed.

Mayor Albee Benitez said that he is awaiting the official report of these incidents from authorities.

Benitez said that public orientation is needed to prevent crimes such as killings.

Aside from enforcement, Benitez said that the public should also know that “we cannot take the law into our own hands.”
