Contractor nabbed for shabu, illegal firearm in Taguig

Police arrested a man for suspected shabu and illegal possession of a firearm in Taguig on July 16. 

The Taguig Police identified the suspect as alias Joy, 47, contractor, who was arrested in Barangay Central Bicutan. 

The operation was led by members of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit in coordination with personnel from Taguig Police Substation 7.

During the buy-bust operation, the police seized 31.6 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P214,880. 

In addition, they also confiscated a .45-caliber pistol, five rounds of live ammunition, a magazine, a genuine P500 bill and P6,000 in boodle money used for the operation. 

The suspect will face a complaint for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition). 

The evidence will be turned over to the Southern Police District Forensic Unit for analysis.
