LUCBAN, Quezon – A 21-year-old caretaker was apprehended for allegedly trying to smuggle suspected shabu wrapped in an "espasol" (native rice cake) while visiting her live-in partner at the custodial facility of the police here on Sunday evening, July 14.

Police Master Sgt. Onasis Balicao, custodial officer, allowed the suspect Jonalyn to bring the item in for humanitarian consideration as her detained live-in partner is about to be transferred to the Pagbilao District Jail in Barangay Talipan.
Balicao inspected the food and noticed a small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu with an estimated weight of 0.72 grams and worth P4,896.
She was taken into custody and faces drug-related charges.
