#BangonBadjao: Donation drive organized for Cavite City fire victims

CAVITE – The local government unit (LGU) of Cavite City organized a donation drive for more or less 1,200 families who lost their homes in a fire that razed a residential area in Barangays 5 and 7 on Badjao St. in Dalahican, on July 14.
On Monday, July 15, the LGU announced that it is accepting canned goods, water, rice, medicines, toiletries, hygiene kits, and bedding for the fire victims.
Donors who would want to provide hot meals, meanwhile, are advised to coordinate with the city government for proper scheduling and distribution.

Cavite 1st District Rep. Jolo Revilla, along with Sen. Bong Revilla and the Agimat Partylist, provided hygiene kits, sleeping kits, kitchen utensils, family food packs, and hot meals to the fire victims. They are also offering P15,000 in financial assistance per family.

Cavite City Fire Station told the Manila Bulletin that the estimated damage from the fire is P3.4 million. The cause of the blaze, meanwhile, is still under investigation.
The fire victims are currently seeking temporary shelter at Dalahican Elementary School and Sta. Cruz Elementary School.
