CEBU CITY – Eager to rub elbows with members of Bini, four “blooms,” the word used to describe fans of the popular girl group, did not hesitate to shell out some cash for a concert here on Sunday night, July 14.
Excitement was replaced with disappointment when the four fans discovered that they got scammed by a person who made them believe that they would be able to spend some time with Bini in exchange for cash.
The incident was reported to the Mabolo Police Station.
According to Police Major Romeo Caacoy, chief of the Mabolo police, the four teenagers went to the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino in Barangay Lahug to watch the Biniverse concert.
When they arrived at the hotel past 10 p.m., the four blooms were told that tickets for the concert were already sold out.
A man approached the four fans and offered that he can arrange a pictorial with Bini members for P10,000.
The four fans agreed. They each paid P2,500 during the transaction that took place inside a comfort room of the hotel.
After receiving the cash, the man left supposedly to arrange the pictorial.
The four fans waited until the concert ended at around 3 a.m. but the man did not show up again.
The frustrated fans decided to report to the police after realizing that they were scammed.
