While she said she will miss all her staff in the Office of the Secretary, Duterte also urged them to continue serving the country.
“Mamimiss ko kayong lahat! Patuloy tayong maglingkod nang tapat para sa bayan (I will miss you all! Continue serving the country faithfully)!,” she wrote on Facebook on Sunday, July 14.
The official also shared photos of the dinner in a popular Korean restaurant.
“Masaya ako at nabigyan tayo ng pagkakataon na makasama sa isang salo-salo ang mga naging kasamahan ko sa Office of the Secretary sa Department of Education sa loob ng halos dalawang taon (I am happy to be given the opportunity to dine with people I worked with at the Office of the Secretary in the Department of Education for almost two years),” she said in a post.
Addressing her staff, Duterte thanked them for working hard and sacrificing their time.
“Nagpapasalamat ako sa inyong suporta sa akin at sa serbisyo ninyo para sa bayan (I thank you for the support and service for the nation),” her post read.
“Alam kong minsan ay hindi na ninyo iniinda ang oras at nagtatrabaho pa kahit na lagpas na sa oras ng opisina, maihatid lamang ang serbisyong nararapat para sa publiko (I know that sometimes you don’t mind the time and continue to work even if it’s beyond office hours, just to deliver proper service to the public),” Duterte added.
Duterte tendered her resignation before President Marcos last June 19. This will take effect on July 19.
She did not provide a reason for her resignation, though this happened amid reported cracks in her relationship with the Marcos administration.
