Falcons APBren falls short of MSC crown, yields to Filipino-laden SRG in grand finals

The current M-series world champions, after cruising their way to the finals, found the MPL Malaysia champions bannered by Filipino players John “Innocent” Banal and Mark “Kramm” Rusiana and coached by Michael Angelo “Arcadia” Bocado a tough nut to crack in the thrilling series that went the distance.

FCAP, which opened the series in a rousing fashion to take a 2-0 series lead, found itself suddenly fighting for its dear life when SRG strung together three straight victories to seize control of the match.

While the Filipinos managed to stave off elimination and force a sudden death Game 7 after a dominant Game 6 win, FCAP seemingly ran out of gas in the decider as SRG quickly took control of the map.

The Malaysians were simply winning every skirmish while the Filipinos were uncharacteristically engaging in team fights even without major objectives on the line.

A big clash down bottom lane proved to be the difference for SRG as it scored a wipeout against APBren to close out the series with a convincing 21-10 Game 7 win and give Malaysia its first-ever major MLBB title.

SRG is also bringing home a whopping $1,000,000 top prize while APBren which settled for second place finish is still pocketing $500,000.

Despite the loss, the country remains the winningest team in the tournament with three titles followed by Indonesia with two and now, Thailand and Malaysia with one apiece.
