Pasigueño who have been admitted as first-year students in priority programs or those incoming first- to fourth-year students in the priority nursing program can submit their online applications on Monday to the “Pasig City Scholarship Portal,” the city's new online system designed to make the application process more efficient.

The priority programs are accountancy, business administration, entrepreneurship, management, marketing, finance, education, political science, English/journalism, communications, hospitality management, tourism, information technology, computer science, psychology, and nursing.

The local government said that applicants must wait for the official portal link that will be posted on the Pasig City Scholarship Office's Facebook page on Monday at 10 a.m.

The portal will close on Friday, July 19, at 5 p.m.

“If you are eligible, please prepare clear, scanned copies of supporting documents for easy uploading when the portal opens at 10 a.m. on Monday,” it stated.

To be eligible as a scholar in the program, the applicant must satisfy all of the following criteria:

  • Filipino citizen
  • Pasig resident for at least two years prior to the deadline for submission of requirements
  • Included in the Listahanan (National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction, or NHTS-PR), or monthly household income must not exceed P30,000
  • Enrolled as a first-year student in a priority program (or first, second, third, or fourth year, in the case of the priority nursing program) in a CHED-accredited private higher education institution (HEI) or TESDA-accredited private technical vocational institution (TVI) located in Pasig City (provided that there is an existing Memorandum of Agreement between the City Government of Pasig and the HEI or TVI)
  • With good moral character and without any derogatory record

It also emphasized that the applicant must not be a scholar of any other scholarship program or study grant.

It said that, currently, the participating schools for the program are Pasig Catholic College and Arellano University-Andres Bonifacio Campus.

The scholarship program will cover the tuition and other school fees necessary for the successful and complete enrollment of a student in private HEIs and private TVIs in Pasig City, as well as a fixed allowance for books, supplies, and miscellaneous personal expenses for the entire duration of the course program.

“The Pasig City PAG-ASA Program scholarship awarded to each beneficiary shall not exceed P35,000 per semester. For scholars taking a nursing course, the scholarship awarded to each student shall not exceed P56,000 per semester,” it said.

"Only applications directly submitted to the City Government of Pasig through the Pasig City Scholarship Portal will be processed," it added.

Applicants can view the full list of the program's requirements and the application process at the Pasig City Scholarship Office FB page.

The PAG-ASA Scholarship program aims to help defray the cost (or a portion) of tertiary education for qualified Pasigueño learners.
