BACOLOD CITY – A suspected drug pusher was gunned down in Purok 6, Barangay Bantayan, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental before dawn on Wednesday, July 10.

Police identified the victim as Cedric Jaro, 21, of Barangay Locotan, Kabankalan City.
Police Lt. Col. Roberto Indiape Jr., Kabankalan police chief, said the victim left his house to meet someone in Barangay Bantayan.
Residents heard gunshots and found the victim wounded on the road around 2:20 a.m.
Jaro succumbed to bullet wounds in the head and leg.
Indiape said that there is only one gunman and it is possible that the suspect had companions.
He said the incident could be drug-related since the victim allegedly failed to pay his illegal drug transactions.
A follow-up operation is ongoing for the apprehension of the suspect who was linked to illegal drugs.
