In the first episode of the "Disaster Wais Series," the PRC-Management Services (PRC-DMS) introduced the "Go Bag."

In this episode, the humanitarian organization explained the various items that should be included in a Go Bag and their purposes during an emergency.

They noted that the kit should contain drinking water and a collapsible water container (at least one gallon per day per person for five days), non-perishable food for three days, eating utensils, a flashlight, a portable radio, and extra batteries for the flashlight and radio.

The episode stressed the significance of preparation and safety for everyone at all times.

In addition to these items, the kit should also include a first-aid kit with essential medicines and face masks, personal documents (such as IDs and bank records), personal hygiene items (including soap, toothbrush, and sanitary products), a whistle, candles with matches, clothes, shoes, blankets, mats, and trash bags.

"These are the essentials of emergency preparedness in a Go Bag, whose crucial supplies will help one survive a disaster situation, until help comes," PRC said.

Meanwhile, PRC Chairman and CEO Richard Gordon reminded the public that "no one will take care of you better than yourself."

He underscored the importance of everyone learning the "4Ps:" predict, plan, prepare, and practice to stay safe during disasters and emergencies.

"The Red Cross is not only here for you; anyone can join us by becoming a volunteer," Gordon said. "Here, you’ll learn life-saving skills and develop the values of kusang-loob, malasakit, at kapwa tao (voluntarism, compassion, and concern for others)," he added.
