Parañaque City Representative Edwin Olivarez led the distribution of financial and medical assistance to 470 beneficiaries of the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) on July 11 at the Parañaque City Sports Complex.

Olivarez said that aside from the payout of assistance to AICS beneficiaries, they also distributed guarantee letters to 21 beneficiaries of medical assistance to indigent patients (MAIP).

The congressman said that out of the 470 AICS beneficiaries, 335 received medical assistance while 135 were given financial help.

Olivarez said the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) facilitated the distribution of assistance to help city residents.

He said the MAIP guarantee letter is a program of the Department of Health (DOH) in ensuring healthcare access for vulnerable populations. The letters were distributed to four patients confined at the Philippine General Hospital, four at Las Piñas General Hospital Satellite Trauma Center; one at Philippine Heart Center; 10 at the National Kidney and Transplant Institute, one at Philippine Children’s Medical Center and one at the National Children’s Hospital.

Olivarez thanked Mayor Eric Olivarez for supporting the project. He said the Office of the Mayor also gives financial and medical assistance to residents in need of help.
