More floating shabu recovered in Ilocos region

CAMP FLORENDO, La Union – Police have confirmed thru testing that packages of shabu were recovered in the West Philippine Sea in Ilocos Norte and Pangasinan on July 9 and 10.

These contraband weighed 11.5 kilos and valued at P78.5 million.
A plastic pack containing shabu weighing one kilo and worth P6.7 million was turned over to the Pasuquin Maritime Law Enforcement Unit on July 10 at 3:30 p.m. in Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte.
On July 9, multiple packs of shabu discovered on June 16 in Sitio Barani, Barangay Gayusan, Agno, Pangasinan were surrendered to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 1 in Camp Diego Silang, San Fernando City, La Union.
These weighed 10.5 kilos and valued at P71.8 million.
Ilocos police chief Police Brig. Gen. Lou F. Evangelista said these findings highlight the extensive drug threat facing the region.
He emphasized the vital role of law enforcement agencies in addressing and combating illegal drug activities.
“The successful recovery and confirmation of these substances underscore the need for continued vigilance and cooperation among various law enforcement units and the community to effectively tackle this persistent issue,” he said.
