Makati City distributes hypertension, diabetes kits to residents

Makati City Reps. Kid Peña and Luis Campos, together with the Makati City Health Department, distributed Hypertension and Diabetes Kits to residents on Wednesday, July 10, as part of the local government unit's (LGU) campaign to prevent the rise of lifestyle diseases among Makatizens.

The distribution was held at the Barangay Olympia Community Complex.
Each Hypertension Kit contains:
* a Club member ID.
* an Adult Aneroid Sphygmomanometer with a stethoscope.
* an NCD booklet (Monitoring diary, dietary guidelines, exercise plan).
* an embossed tag with the patient's emergency contact (bracelet).
* a transparent bag.
The Diabetes Kit includes:
* a Club member ID
* a glucometer with 25 strips per canister and lancets
* a pack of 15 cotton balls
* an embossed tag with the patient's emergency contact (bracelet)
* an NCD booklet (Monitoring diary, dietary guidelines, exercise plan)
* a transparent bag
* a sharps collector container.
According to the city government, both the hypertension and diabetes clubs of Makati now have 536 members.
Other residents who wish to receive the monitoring kits may proceed to their nearest barangay health center.
