The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) will continue to bring rain showers and thunderstorms over Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Thursday, July 11.
The ITCZ, a weather system where winds from the northern and southern hemispheres converge, will cause cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, Soccsksargen, Misamis Occidental, Lanao del Norte, and Davao Occidental.
Residents in these areas are warned of potential flash floods or landslides due to occasionally moderate to heavy rains and thunderstorms.
PAGASA said the ITCZ may also cause partly cloudy to cloudy weather with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms across the Bicol Region, Oriental Mindoro, Romblon, Marinduque, and the rest of Visayas and Mindanao
The rest of Luzon may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA also warned the public about severe thunderstorms that could lead to flash floods or landslides.
