Former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque has debunked a report that he had been tagged by Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor) Chairman Alejandro Tengco as the former Cabinet secretary who "lobbied" for illegal POGO operations.
In a signed letter sent to the Manila Bulletin (MB) on Wednesday, July 10, Roque called the report "a complete fabrication and a serious misrepresentation of the facts".
POGO stands for Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators. Pagcor regulates the industry.

"During Chairman Tengco's testimony, no such statement was made. On the contrary he confirmed that my interaction with Pagcor was solely to schedule a payment for Lucky South 99, which held a valid license from Pagcor at that time," wrote Roque.
The lawyer and former party-list congressman was referring to what transpired during the resumption of the Senate Committee on Women and Children's investigation POGO-related crimes.
