A man was arrested for alarm and scandal and malicious mischief after destroying items inside a convenience store by members of the Pasay City police Substation 6 on Wednesday, July 10.
Pasay City police chief Col. Samuel Pabonita reported to the Southern Police District (SPD) the arrest of alias Jay-R, a resident of San Fernando, Pampanga.
Pabonita said the suspect was arrested at around 5:00 a.m. inside the bathroom located at the second floor of a 7-Eleven convenience store on C. Jose St., Barangay 159, Malibay, Pasay City.
He said the store manager, alias John, 32, of Santos St., Malibay, Pasay City, called for police assistance after the suspect destroyed the displayed items inside the store worth P100,000.
The store manager also told responding member of police Substation 6 that the suspect also held by the neck one of the customers identified as alias Menard, 20, of Guijo St., Barangay 182, Mulawin, Pasay City.
Sensing the arrival of responding policemen, the suspect immediately went up to the second floor of the store and locked himself up inside the bathroom.
The city police chief said responding members of Substation 6 forced open the door of the bathroom and arrested the suspect.
The suspect was immediately detained at the police custodial facility and was charged for alarm and scandal and malicious mischief.
Pabonita said Menard, who was held by the neck, executed a waiver and did not file a case against the suspect.
