The city government of Las Piñas will hold the “Buntis Congress” for soon-to-be mommies and free cervical cancer screening for all women in the city.

Las Piñas City Mayor Imelda Aguilar said the “Buntis Congress" will be held on Thursday, July 11, at Almanza Uno covered court from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

Aguilar said the congress aims to increase the knowledge of mommies on safe motherhood, breast feeding, oral health program, immunization, and family planning.

She said mothers who wanted to join the congress should visit their nearest health center to register and be part of the activity.

Meanwhile, the City Health Center (CHO) in coordination with the city government will conduct free cervical cancer screening on Friday, July 12, at the Golden Acres Health Center.

Aguilar said the team of CHO will conduct visual inspection with acetic acid (VIA), a simple and inexpensive test for the detection of cervical precancerous lesions and early invasive cancer.
