The 25-year-old Belangel, who was a product of Ateneo from high school to college, posted on X his take on Amos’ announcement minutes after it was made public.

“Wala na ba [p]ride mga players ngayon?” paired with a clown emoji.

Aside from the post on X, the 5-foot-10 guard also took it to Instagram to express his disappointment after sharing on his story an edited picture of Amos wearing a La Salle jersey, captioned with clown and angry emojis. It is reportedly the school where the young Gilas big man is set to transfer in.

In another story, he shared an old post with his former school taken five years ago and even added a part of the school’s anthem to prove a point: “Win or lose, it’s the school we choose.”

Tab Baldwin's Ateneo had an underwhelming campaign in the UAAP Season 86 where it failed to defend the crown and eventually just finished fourth in the standings.

In 2022, Belangel decided to forgo his two remaining playing eligibility and turned pro in the Korean Basketball League, where he also recently just signed another two-year extension with Daegu KOGAS.

Collegiate players transferring to another school or league and going pro whether locally or overseas have been common developments, however, it’s been happening quite a lot and casually lately which is probably what prompted Belangel's post.

Though Amos and Belangel did not have a chance to play together as teammates in Ateneo, the latter was clearly upset for his alma mater.
