Sexagenarian killed, 17 hurt in 2-vehicle collision in Isabela
CAUAYAN CITY, Isabela – A sexagenarian was killed and 17 individuals were injured in a collision between a Mercedes Benz van and a Toyota Wigo car in Barangay Tallungan, Reina Mercedes, Isabela on Sunday, June 30.
Police identified the fatality as Vilma Maneja, 68, a passenger of the Toyota Wigo.

Investigation said the Toyota Wigo driven by Virgil Maneja, 34, a soldier from Taguig City, suddenly occupied the lane of Mercedes Benz van, resulting in a head-on collision.
Chris Ian Dumlao, the driver of the van from San Mariano, Isabela, and his eight passengers sustained injuries. Maneja and eight passengers also sustained injuries.
They were taken to a hospital where Vilma was declared dead.
Police Major Charles Cariño, Reina Mercedes chief of police, said that both parties have conducted initial discussions but have yet to agree on a settlement.
Cariño reminded motorists to take extra precautions on the road to avoid such incidents.
