Motorcycle rider, passenger die in Sta. Cruz road accident

A motorcycle rider and his passenger died in a road collision along Rizal Avenue corner Fugoso Street, Sta. Cruz, Manila on Sunday, June 9.

The Manila Police District identified the deceased suspects as Leal Silvestre and Hilario Madriaga.

According to the police report, the incident occurred at around 3:37 a.m. on Sunday.

Based on the closed circuit television (cctv) footage, a Toyota Innova car was traveling along the southbound lane when suddenly a motorcycle appeared from westbound lane and hit him.

Police said the southbound lane was in green traffic light signal when the incident happened.

Due to the strong impact, the victims were thrown off and landed onto pavement resulting in their instantaneous deaths.

The bodies of the victims were brought to Saint Azrael Funeral.

Authorities said the case is still under investigation.
