24 areas may experience ‘dangerous’ heat indices on June 10


The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said 24 areas may still experience a heat index that is considered “dangerous” on Monday, June 10.

PAGASA said a 50 degrees Celsius (°C) heat index may be experienced in Guiuan, Eastern Samar, followed by 45°C in Aparri, Cagayan; Legazpi City, Albay; and Maasin, Southern Leyte.

Tuguegarao City, Cagayan; Casiguran, Aurora; Virac (Synop), Catanduanes; and Masbate City, Masbate may feel a heat index of 44°C.

Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Pasay City, Metro Manila; Dagupan City, Pangasinan; Itbayat, Batanes; ISU Echague, Isabela; Cuyo, Palawan; Daet, Camarines Norte; Tacloban City, Leyte; Dipolog, Zamboanga Del Norte; and Zamboanga City, Zamboanga Del Sur may experience a 43°C heat index.

PAGASA added that Bacnotan, La Union; Infanta, Quezon; Alabat, Quezon; Roxas City, Capiz; Mambusao, Capiz; Dumangas, Iloilo; and Borongan, Eastern Samar may have a heat index of 42°C.
