Pinay receives Global Filipino Icon of Star Award in Dubai

Filipino entrepreneur and Icon of Star Award recipient Ellanie Villena

A Filipino entrepreneur added another feather in her cap after being honored with the Icon of Star Award at the Global Filipino Icon Awards in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Global recognition is not something new for Ellanie Villena as she already received various awards for leadership and good entrepreneurial skills in the past, including the Most Influential Filipina Women in the World, the Global Entrepreneurship Conference Leader Award, and the prestigious Women’s Honors Award 2021.

This time, Villena was recognized as Icon of Star Award in the event hosted by “The Global Filipino Magazine,” a publication based in Dubai with the highest readership of Filipino magazines in the Middle East.

The event, Global Filipino Icon Awards, acknowledges individuals and organizations that have excelled in their respective domains and raised the Philippine flag in an international platform.

Villena has an impressive career spanning over two decades, marked by her exceptional role as office manager at the Pakistan Business Council in Dubai. Her services have greatly improved business relations and fortified trade connections between Pakistan, the Philippines, and the UAE.

Serving as a vital link between various commerce and industry associations, Villena handles the complex landscape of both the political and business realms with a remarkable skill set.

But Villena's contributions extend beyond the boardroom.

As Vice President of the Filipino Social Club in Dubai and an active community volunteer, she embodies the value of service by enriching the lives of those around her.

Her involvement in major social events and the founding of Angel Wings International Tourism LLC bear testimony to her entrepreneurial spirit and unwavering commitment to community development.
