Muntinlupa resident tops Basic Air Force Officer Course
A Muntinlupa resident ranked first among the graduates of the Basic Air Force Officer Course (BAFOC) Class 2024-B.
The Muntinlupa City government congratulated Second Lieutenant Vince Latrell Alon of the Philippine Air Force for topping his class.
The Basic Air Force Officer Course (BAFOC) Class 2024-B graduation ceremony was held at the Fernando Air Base in Lipa City, Batangas.
Alon also received the following awards: Commander, Air Education, Training and Doctrine Command (AETDC) Award for Excellence; Distinguished Graduate, Academic Excellence Contender Award and Best Writer Contender Award.

Mayor Ruffy Biazon said this is Alon's latest achievement.
Last January, he said, "he made Muntinlupa proud for being the Class Top 2 sa BAGSIK-LAWIN Class of 2023 ng Philippine Air Force Officer Candidate Course, at pagkamit ng 'Chief of Staff, Armed Forces of the Philippines Saber Award at Academic Excellence Award."
"You are one of Muntinlupa’s pride, 2LT ALON! I hope, patuloy kang magsilbing inspirasyon sa lahat ng Muntinlupeño (I hope, you continue to serve as inspiration for all Muntinlupeños)," the mayor added.
Alon’s parents are city government employees, working at the Environmental Sanitation Center (ESC) and City Cooperative Development Office.
He studied at Southernside Montessori School and Muntinlupa Science High School.
Alon thanked his mentors at the Philippine Air Force Officer School (PAFOS) for his successful passing in BAFOC, which is one of the most important parts of the Professional Military Education (PME).
“We cannot attain perfection dahil bilang tao meron tayong mga limitations. Ngunit kung tayo’y magpupursige, we can achieve excellence. Aayon din sa atin ang panahon (We cannot attain perfection because we have limitations. But if we persevere, we can achieve excellence. Time will eventually agree with us),” he said.
“Nakaka-proud ang galing ng Muntinlupeño! Muli, congratulations 2LT ALON!” the city government posted on Facebook.
The BAFOC Class 2024-B graduation ceremony was attended by Major General Elpidio Talja, commander of the Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC), who was the guest of honor and speaker.
